Health & Safety Policy

The health and safety of both workforce and site staff is of paramount importance and the Managing Director takes personal responsibility for the review and updating of our Company Health and Safety Policy ensuring that all of our responsibilities are met.

We work to ensure the highest safety standards are maintained both at our premises and on site. A rolling training programme is in place to maintain and update our staffs’ training records and skill base.

Statement of Intent

The management of Reynolds & Litchfield looks upon the promotion of Health and Safety measures as a mutual objective for themselves and their employees.

Therefore, it is Company policy to do all that is reasonably practical to prevent personal injury and eliminate any hazards and danger.

In particular, the management of Reynolds & Litchfield recognises its responsibility:

To provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions.
To provide training and instruction to enable employees to perform their work safely.
To maintain a continuing and progressive interest in Health and Safety.
To take into account all statutory requirements for Health and Safety.

Environmental Policy

Our company is fully committed to the part it can play in minimising the effects on the environment of the production and construction of steel buildings. With this in mind Reynolds & Litchfield fully supports the drive towards sustainability in steel construction and recognises how the properties of steel itself, if managed correctly, contribute to the environmental cause.

In conjunction with the Company’s formal Environmental Policy Reynolds & Litchfield seeks to inform and train staff in these matters in order that environmental awareness becomes part of the company’s culture.

Environmental Policy Statement

Reynolds & Litchfield will control and manage its activities to ensure risks to health, safety and welfare of its employees, customers and the general public are identified and action taken to minimise or eliminate their effects.

Adverse effects of operational activities on the environment will be minimised as far as practicable.

The objectives of the policy are:

To comply with its legal obligations under the current Health, Safety and Welfare Act and the Environmental Protection Act, together with all other applicable statutory provisions and relevant codes of practice.
To promote health, safety and environmental awareness throughout the organisation.
To maintain a safe and healthy working environment for its employees, with adequate facilities appropriate to the nature of the business activities.
To minimise the social impact of the company activities and avoid damage to the environment through regular reviews of the business from environmental and management system audits.
To undertake environmental impact studies as part of any company relocation or enlargement of existing facilities.

Compliance

CE Marking: On 1^st July 2014 it became a legal requirement that any steelwork supplied is through a CE Accredited Steelwork Company. ASA demonstrates compliance with this standard by manufacturing material in accordance with BS EN ISO 1090-1:2009+A1:2011, and carrying out the required level of Non-Destructive Testing. Being accredited to the maximum Execution Class 4 means we can undertake a vast range of projects that vary between level of consequence class and service category.
ISO 9001: We are accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management and have an advanced management system in place to ensure we meet the requirements of this standard along with continuous improvement to allow us to execute all work to the highest quality.
